An Explanation
This home page has two independent functions. It supplies information about the various recognized psychoanalytic resources in the South of the United States -- psychoanalytic institutes and recognized study groups; it includes names of faculty members of each, along with addresses, e-mail and fax addresses, and descriptions of on-going activities. The other function includes a selection of more than fifty psychoanalytic papers of mine, mostly previously published, or to be published. In addition, it supplies extensive links to to other psychoanalytic organizations and relevant interdisciplinary organizations. Every attempt is made here to hold to standards that are widely inclusive of differing viewpoints as long as they adhere to a small number of fundamental assumptions and concepts which generally define the discipline of psychoanalysis and distinguish it from other theories and techniques having to do with mind. Psychoanalysis is not a cult. It is growing and changing. Depending on the definition, it is either a young science or a proto-science. I hope that can be demonstrated in both the papers and the organizations. Comments about any material on this home page are welcomed. Anything can be downloaded as long as it is not to be used for any commercial purpose and as long as quotations are checked through me. Note: This page is under construction. As of August, it is nearly at functional status (although there will be continued improvements after that). |
