Candidate Background
Psychoanalysts come from varied backgrounds: primarily from the clinical fields of psychiatry, psychology and social work, as well as from the arts, academic scholarship, and research in the humanities. It is the individual's own motivation, character, and skill which determine who will become the future analyst.
The faculty and advisors at PINE work closely with each candidate, fashioning individualized programs that ensure each candidate meets his or her full potential as a psychoanalyst. The PINE program provides a rich contemporary psychoanalytic curriculum focused on integrating the unique features of each candidate's background, training, and interests.
We at PINE have been highly successful in graduating analysts who are strikingly individual yet deeply immersed in our evolving profession. |
